Yumi Shirakawa (白川 由美,Shirakawa Yumi; 21 November 1936 – 14 June 2016) was a Japanese film and television actress. She was called the JapaneseGrace Kelly when she debuted.[1] She was scouted and joined Toho film company.[2] In the same year, she made her film debut withNarazumono.[1] Her notable films areRodan (1956),The H-Man (1958), andYasujirō Ozu’s filmThe End of Summer (1961).[3] She was married to actorHideaki Nitani until his death in 2012.[4][1]
She died of heart failure on June 14, 2016, at the age of 79.[3]
