Yuliia Volodymyrivna Starodubtseva (Ukrainian:Юлія Володимирівна Стародубцева; born 17 February 2000) is a Ukrainian tennis player. She has a career-high singles ranking of world No. 63, achieved on 11 August 2025, by theWTA, and peaked at No. 144 in the WTA doubles rankings on 9 May 2024.[1][2]

Starodubtseva has won four singles titles and three doubles titles on theITF Circuit.

She played college tennis atOld Dominion University.[3][4][5]

2023: First ITF Circuit title

Starodubtseva won her first $60k tournament in June 2023 in Sumter, South Carolina, defeating Indian playerKarman Thandi.[6]

2024-25: Major, WTA 1000 debuts & quarterfinal, top 65

Starodubtseva reached the top 150 in the singles rankings on 15 January 2024. She made her major debut at theAustralian Open after qualifying,[7][8][4] but lost in the first round to sixth seedOns Jabeur.[5][9]

Starodubtseva made herFrench Open debut as a qualifier, but lost in straight sets toCristina Bucșa.[10]Starodubtseva recorded her first main-draw major win at theWimbledon, as a qualifier, overAlison Van Uytvanck, on her debut.[11] In the second round, she lost to fellow qualifierLulu Sun.[12]

Ranked No. 146, Starodubtseva made her debut at theUS Open, after qualifying into the main draw but lost to 20th seedVictoria Azarenka, in three sets.[13] Starodubtseva became the first woman in theOpen Era to qualify for all four majors in a single season.[1]In September, Starodubtseva reached her first WTA Tour quarterfinal at the2024 Jasmin Open by defeatingSuzan Lamens[14] and third seedDiane Parry,[15][16] before losing toSonay Kartal.[17] At the2024 China Open, Starodubtseva recorded, after qualifying, her first two main-draw WTA 1000-level wins overLaura Siegemund and 27th seedKateřina Siniaková, her first top 50 win.[18] Next, she defeatedElina Avanesyan and tenth seedAnna Kalinskaya to reach the quarterfinals of a WTA 1000 for the first time in her career. As a result, she entered the top 100 in the singles rankings on 7 October 2024.[19][20][1]

At the2025 French Open as the top seed,[2] Yulia Starodubtseva lost to teenagerSára Bejlek in straight sets in the last round of qualifying, ending a 14-match winning streak in Grand Slam qualifying.[21] Despite losing in the final round of qualifying, Starodubtseva entered the main draw as a lucky loser replacing RomanianSorana Cîrstea. She defeatedTamara Korpatsch from Germany, also a qualifier,[22] andAnastasia Potapova to reach the third round of a Grand Slam for the first time in her career.[23][24] As a result she reached a new career-high ranking of world No. 67 on 9 June 2025.[25] At the same tournament Starodubtseva also entered the doubles draw as an alternate pair withAnastasia Dețiuc. They defeated their first round opponents, the French wildcard duoÉmeline Dartron andTiantsoa Rakotomanga Rajaonah.[better source needed][26]

At the2025 Ningbo Open where Starodubtseva qualified for the main draw, she pushed sixth seedBelinda Bencic to three sets in what was the longest match of the 2025 season thus far, lasting three hours and 33 minutes.[27] As a result she moved 19 positions up to No. 112 on 20 October 2025.[28]
