Yuhu District (simplified Chinese:雨湖区;traditional Chinese:雨湖區;pinyin:Yǔhú Qū;lit. 'rain lake') is one of two urbandistricts inXiangtan City,Hunan Province, China. Located in the western region of the city proper and on the northwestern shoreside of theXiang River, the district is bordered to the north byYuelu District ofChangsha City, to the east byTianxin District of Changsha City andYuetang District, to the south byXiangtan County, and to the west byNingxiang County. Yuhu District covers an area of 451.39 km2 (174.28 sq mi), and as of 2015, it had a registered population of 520,477 and a residential population of 667,000.[1] The district has 8subdistricts, 3towns and 1township under its jurisdiction,[2] and the government seat is located inYuhu Road Subdistrict [zh].[3]

Wan Pavilion is a well known tourist spot in the district, which provides the best view ofXiang River in Xiangtan.
