Yuhina is agenus of birds in the white-eye familyZosteropidae.
The genusYuhina was introduced in 1836 by the English naturalistBrian Houghton Hodgson with thestripe-throated yuhina as thetype species.[1][2] The genus name is fromNepali language.[1][3] The genus was formerly placed in the familyTimaliidae. It was moved to Zosteropidae based on results ofmolecular phylogenetic studies.[4][5][6]
The genus contains the following seven species:[6]
Thewhite-bellied erpornis (Erpornis zantholeuca) was formerly assigned to this genus, with the common name "white-bellied yuhina".
