"You Make Me Feel Like Dancing" is a song by British singerLeo Sayer, taken from his 1976 albumEndless Flight. It reached number one on the U.S.BillboardHot 100 chart,^[3] making it his first top single in the United States, and reached number two on theUK Singles Chart.^[4]Billboard ranked it thenumber 13 song of 1977.

Credited songwriters Sayer andVini Poncia won aGrammy Award for the songin 1978 forBest R&B Song.Ray Parker Jr, who was asession musician at the time, has stated that he was the original songwriter and that when he gave the tune as a demo, his accreditation as such was missed.^[5] "It's not Leo's fault," Parker toldVariety. "He tried to cut six or seven more of my songs just because he felt so bad."^[5]

Like other Sayer songs from that time, it features extensive use of the singer'sfalsetto voice, a very popularvocal register in disco-era songs. Sayer performed the song inthe thirteenth episode of the second season of "Saturday Night Live" andthe second episode of season 3 ofThe Muppet Show.
