Yorbe Vertessen (born 8 January 2001) is a Belgian professionalfootballer who plays as aforward or awinger for Austrian clubRed Bull Salzburg.

Club career

Born in the Belgian town of Tienen, Vertessen joinedPSV Eindhoven as a schoolboy fromWesterlo in 2009.

On 2 May 2021, Vertessen scored his first goal for the PSV senior side in a 2–2 draw withSC Heerenveen inEredivisie play.[1] On 7 August 2021, Vertessen scored in a 4–0Johan Cruyff Shield win over rivalsAjax, in turn helping to end Ajax's 17 game unbeaten streak.[2]

On 28 January 2023, Vertessen was loaned toUnion Saint-Gilloise until the end of the 2022–23 season,[3] while Union were lying second in the Belgian Pro League, and made his debut in Union's 4–0 win overZulte Waregem on 5 February 2023.[4]

On 1 February 2024, Vertessen signed withUnion Berlin in Germany.[5]

On 3 February 2025, Vertessen signed a four-and-a-half-year contract withAustrian Football Bundesliga clubRed Bull Salzburg.[6]

International career

Vertessen featured in the Belgium squad for theEuropean Under-17 Championship in 2018, earning a place in the team of the tournament.[7]

He was joint top scorer in the tournament alongside Italy'sEdoardo Vergani,[8] scoring in group stage wins overIreland (2–0) andBosnia and Herzegovina (4–0).

Further goals came in the 2–1 quarter-final win overSpain and the 2–1 semi-final defeat at the hands of eventual winnersItaly.
