Yongshan County (Chinese:永善县;pinyin:Yǒngshàn Xiàn) is a county in the northeast ofYunnan Province, China, borderingSichuan Province to the north and northwest across theJinsha River. It is under the administration of theprefecture-level city ofZhaotong.
There are two mainYi ethnic subgroups in Yongshan County, namely Laluo (腊罗) and Niesu (聂苏).[1]
Yongshan County has 8 towns, 5 townships and 2 ethnic townships.[2]
Yongshan was astate-designated poor county, which means the averageincome of its people is below 530yuan a year - that is, less than 30 US cents a day.[3][4]
