Yoncalık (Kurdish:Pîrzalan,[2]Syriac:Pirzālan[3]) is a village in theYüksekova District ofHakkâri Province inTurkey.[4] The village is populated byKurds of the Dirî and Pinyanişî tribes and had a population of 432 in 2023.[1][5]
Thehamlet of Çakırca, Çevreli (Çardîwar,Qardiwār) and Kuruköy are attached to Yoncalık.[2][4]
Missionary Samuel Audley Rhea visited the village during his trips toKurdistan whichDwight Whitney Marsh wrote about in the book "The Tennesseean in Persia and Koordistan" published in 1869.[6]
The village was populated by 28Assyrian families in 1850 and 60 families in 1877.[3]
