Yidu (Chinese:宜都;pinyin:Yídū) is acounty-level city in westernHubei Province, China. It is under the administration of theprefecture-level city ofYichang. It has a population of 395,000 residents, and covers an area of 1,357 square kilometres (524 sq mi), divided into 1 subdistrict, 8 towns, and 1 township. Its GDP in 2015 was 50 billion yuan.[4]
Yidu was established as a county in 196 BC during theWestern Han dynasty, then calledYidao (夷道). In 210 AD,Liu Bei established Yidu Commandery.[4]

1996年，枝城市面积1357平方千米，{...}2010年第六次人口普查，宜都市常住总人口384598人，{...}2013年，撤销王家畈乡，设立王家畈镇（鄂民政发[2013]53号）。调整后，全市辖1个街道、8个镇、1个民族乡：陆城街道、红花套镇、高坝洲镇、聂家河镇、松木坪镇、枝城镇、姚家店镇、五眼泉镇、王家畈镇、潘家湾土家族乡。
