"Yes, Indeed!" is a 1941swing song in thespiritual style, written bySy Oliver. Originally, Oliver had written the song for his previous bossJimmie Lunceford, who turned it down, believing it to be sacrilegious.[1][2][3]

A recording by theTommy Dorsey Orchestra[3] charted inBillboard in the United States in the summer of 1941,[4][5][6] peaking at No. 4.[7]
