Yeji is a town in the centre ofGhana and the capital of thePru East District of theBono East Region in Ghana. Yeji is adjacent toLake Volta. Yeji is connected byhighway toEjura andKwadjokrom. It had a population of 29,515 at the census of 2010.[1]
Yeji and its surroundings form the homeland of a branch of theChumburu people, who also have a traditional area in the kingdom ofChumburung, at the other side ofLake Volta. They speak theChumburung language, but the Yejidialect is quite different from the one spoken in Chumburung itself. Apart from the Chumburu,Konkombas,Gonjas and others are also native in Yeji.
