TheYegeruqway (Adyghe:Еджэрыкъуай,romanized: Yedjərıqway;Russian: Егерукаевцы,Yegerukaevtsy) were one of the twelve majorCircassian tribes, representing one of the twelve stars on the green-and-goldCircassian flag.[1] There is also a small town with a form of the same nameEgerukhay (Russian: Егерухай,Yegerukhaj) in theKoshekhablsky District, Adygea, Russia. The Yegeruqway currently reside in said town, other places of habitation includeKhatazhukay andDzherokay.[2]
The 12 Circassian tribes: Abadzeh Besleney Bzhedug Yegeruqay Zhaney Kabarday Mamheg Natuhay Temirgoy Ubyh Shapsug Hatukay. The twelve stars on the Adyghe Flag also refers to the twelve tribes.
