TheYarluyandi, also known asJeljendi, are anAboriginal Australian people of north-easternSouth Australia.
InNorman Tindale's calculations, the Yarluyandi had some 18,000 square kilometres (6,900 sq mi) of land within their tribal domain, taking in theMulligan River south of Annandale toAlton Downs. Their western confines were in the vicinity of Atna Hill,[1] while their eastern extension went as far asBirdsville and theDiamantina River.[2]
The Yarluyandi now form an aggregate with theWangkangurru people, and are represented by the Wangkangurru Yarluyandi Aboriginal Corporation.[3] Theirnative title over a large area of theSimpson Desert was recognised in 2014.[4]
