Veerbhadra Temple, is in Chikodi Taluka of Belagavi District,Karnataka, India, approximately 94km (58mi) fromBelgaum. It lies on the banks of theKrishna River.
The temple was built at some point between the 9th to 12th centuries. The temple reflectsDravidian architecture with carved pillars and sculptures.[1] The temple is dedicated toVirabhadra, a form ofShiva.[2]
In 2019, the temple was submerged for 15 days due to the Krishna river flooding.[3] In 2020, access to the temple was controlled by temperature checks andsocial distancing due to theCOVID-19 pandemic.[4]
