Yadamini Narodhama Rupasinghe Gunawardena is aSri Lankan politician andMember of Parliament.[1]
Gunawardena is the son of former prime ministerDinesh Gunawardena, and the grandson ofPhilip Gunawardena, cofounder of theLanka Sama Samaja Party.[2][3] His grandmotherKusumasiri Gunawardena was the second elected female Member of Parliament in Sri Lanka.[4][5] He completed primary and secondary education atRoyal College Colombo.[6] He is a graduate of theUniversity of Wisconsin–Superior (2003) and theUniversity of Wales (2013).[7]
Gunawardena is the deputy leader and deputy secretary of theMahajana Eksath Peramuna.[8][9] Following the2020 parliamentary election, he was appointed to theParliament of Sri Lanka as aNational List MP representing theSri Lanka People's Freedom Alliance.[10][11][12]
Gunawardena is married to former UPFA Western province councillor Samanmali Sakalasuriya.[13]
