Location

Xi'an North railway station (Chinese:西安北站;pinyin:Xī'ānběi Zhàn) is arailway station on theZhengxi Passenger Railway,Xibao Passenger Railway andDaxi Passenger Railway. The station is located inWeiyang District ofXi'an, the capital ofShaanxi province. It is some 10 km (6.2 mi) north of the city centre and theXi'an railway station.

The station has 34 platforms. It is the largest railway station inNorthwest China.^[1]

Construction began on 19 September 2008.^[2] The station was opened on 11 January 2011.^[1] It has since been expanded.

Xi'an North station is served by the fast (G-series and D-series) trains running on theZhengzhou–Xi'an High-Speed Railway,Xi'an–Baoji High-Speed Railway,Yinchuan–Xi'an high-speed railway andDatong–Xi'an Passenger Railway,Xi'an–Chengdu high-speed railway.^[3] All other passenger trains serving Xi'an run fromXi'an railway station, just north of downtown.^[4]

The station is connected toLine 2 ofXi'an Metro atBeikezhan station, and connected toLine 4 andLine 14 ofXi'an Metro atBeikezhan (Beiguangchang) station.
