Wylie Buzza (born 2 March 1996) is anAustralian rules footballer who currently plays for theSouthport Football Club in theVictorian Football League (VFL). He previously for theGeelong andPort Adelaide in theAustralian Football League (AFL), before delisted at the conclusion of the2020 season.[1]
Buzza was raised inGatton, Queensland.[2] His first sport wasrugby league and his dream was to play for theBrisbane Broncos andQueensland Maroons.[3] He played until the age of 15, making the Toowoomba U14 squad in 2010.[4] At that age he joined the Lockyer Valley Demons where he first played junior Australian football. A standout player, he was selected in theBrisbane Lions Academy as a youngster before he was drafted by Geelong with the sixty-ninth overall pick in the2015 national draft.[5]
Buzza made his debut in the draw againstGreater Western Sydney atSpotless Stadium in round fifteen of the 2017 season, where he kicked two goals.[6] Wylie welcomed being a cult hero at Geelong, provided he was not a dud cult hero.[7]He was delisted at the conclusion of the2019 AFL season,[8] but was picked up byPort Adelaide as a delisted free agent.

Buzza played the 2021 season for theWerribee Football Club in theVictorian Football League.[9] He returned to Queensland to play with the Brisbane Lions VFL team for 2022.[10]
Buzza kicked 7 goals in his QAFL debut forMorningside on 29 April 2023.
Buzza played for Southport in the club's six-point2024 VFL grand final loss toWerribee.[11] He almost pulled in aspectacular mark inside Southport's forward line during the final minute of the game.[12][13]
