TheWomen's Football Superleague of Kosovo (Albanian:Superliga e Futbollit për Femra të Kosovës), also known as theSIGURIA Women's Superleague (Albanian:SIGURIA Superliga e Femrave) for sponsorship reasons with SIGURIA, is the topwomen's association football division of theKosovo football league system. The league is organized by theFootball Federation of Kosovo and the division currently has an eight-team format.

History

The league was founded in 2010 under the nameKosovo Women's Football League (Albanian:Liga e Futbollit për Femra të Kosovës), a name it kept until August 2022, when theFootball Federation of Kosovo decided to change the organizational structure of women's football competitions in Kosovo, where from this change, the name was changed to theWomen's Football Superleague of Kosovo (Albanian:Superliga e Futbollit për Femra të Kosovës) and the format was changed to eight-team format, while the teams under the best eight will automatically be relegated to the newly formed Women's First Football League of Kosovo.[1]

Hajvalia secured qualifying by entering at thequalifying round in theUEFA Women's Champions League for the first time in the2016–17 season.[7] Besides Hajvalia, evenMitrovica competed in theUEFA Women's Champions League for the first time in the2018–19 season, entering during thequalifying round.[8]
