The96th Assembly district ofWisconsin is one of 99 districts in theWisconsin State Assembly.[1] Located in westernWisconsin, the district comprises all ofVernon County and part of southwestLa Crosse County. It includes part of the south side of the city ofLa Crosse and the cities ofHillsboro,Viroqua, andWestby, along with the villages ofChaseburg,Coon Valley,Genoa,La Farge,Ontario,Readstown, andStoddard. It also containsWildcat Mountain State Park andViterbo University.[2] The district is represented byDemocratTara Johnson, since January 2025.

The 96th Assembly district is located withinWisconsin's 32nd Senate district, along with the94th and95th Assembly districts.[3]
