Samuel Wilson Clyde (8 April 1934 – 19 April 2019) was a Northern IrishDemocratic Unionist Party (DUP) politician who was aMember of the Legislative Assembly forSouth Antrim from1998 to2007.
Born inKilbegs,County Antrim, Clyde worked as afarmer before being elected toAntrim Borough Council for theDemocratic Unionist Party in 1981. In 1996, he was elected to theNorthern Ireland Forum, representingSouth Antrim, and he held the seat at the1998 and2003 elections to theNorthern Ireland Assembly. He was deselected by the DUP for the2007 election.[citation needed]
Clyde died on 19 April 2019, at the age of 85.[1][2]
