Stephen Wilson Bethel (born February 24, 1984) is an American actor and producer.[2] He is known for his roles as Ryder Callahan on theCBS daytime soap operaThe Young and the Restless (2009–2011),[3][4] Wade Kinsella onHart of Dixie (2011–2015),[5] Deputy district attorney Mark Callan on the legal dramaAll Rise (2019–2023), and asBenjamin "Dex" Poindexter / Bullseye in thethird season of theMarvel Cinematic Universe seriesDaredevil (2018) and itsrevival seriesDaredevil: Born Again (2025–present). He is also the star and creator of theweb seriesStupid Hype onthe CW's online platform CWD (CW Digital Studio).

Career

Bethel made his on-screen debut as Brad in the teen drama seriesThe O.C., in the episode "The Telenovela".[6] He had guest roles inJAG,Cold Case, andNCIS,[7] and portrayed Corporal Evan "Q-Tip" Stafford in theEmmy-nominated mini-seriesGeneration Kill, starringAlexander Skarsgård.[2] Bethel made his film debut in the 2008Vietnam War film,1968 Tunnel Rats where he played theArmy Special Ops soldier, Corporal Green.[8] In 2009, he landed a recurring role as Ryder Callahan on theCBS daytimesoap operaThe Young and the Restless.[9]

InThe CW's comedy-drama seriesHart of Dixie, Bethel played Wade Kinsella, "bad-boy" neighbor to the series' central character, Zoe Hart.[10][6] Production for the show began in early 2011 and it premiered on September 26, 2011. The series concluded on May 7, 2015, after four seasons.[11]BuddyTV ranked him #14 on its list of "TV's Sexiest Men of 2011"; in 2012 he was ranked #2 on the same list.[12] He appeared in four episodes ofABC'slegal thriller seriesHow to Get Away with Murder as Charles Mahoney.[9][13]

In 2017, he joined theRoundabout Theatre Company's production ofThe Last Match, which was set in the world of professional tennis.[2] In 2018, he joined the cast ofDaredevil asBenjamin "Dex" Poindexter, also known asBullseye[14] and reprised the role inDaredevil: Born Again (2025–present).[15][16] In 2019, Bethel landed a main role on theCBS legal drama seriesAll Rise as Deputy District Attorney Mark Callan.[17]

Personal life

Bethel was born on February 24, 1984, inHillsborough, New Hampshire. He is the son of artist Steve Bethel and authorJoyce Maynard.[18] He married Liesl Martinez-Balaguer on November 28, 2020.[citation needed][19] He has one daughter.
