William Boyd III (born 1968 or 1969) is an American politician who has served as a member of theNew Hampshire House of Representatives since 2021, representingHillsborough County's 21st district, which contains the town ofMerrimack.[1] A member of theRepublican Party, Boyd ran in anApril 2021 special election to succeedDick Hinch, who died ofCOVID-19 in December 2020.[2] Boyd defeated theDemocratic nominee, former state representativeWendy E.N. Thomas, by a margin of 2,531 votes to 2,144.[3] Boyd's campaign was assisted byMike Pompeo, a formerUnited States secretary of state, andTom Cotton, aUnited States senator fromArkansas.[4]

Boyd previously served on theMerrimack Town Council and the New Hampshire Drinking and Groundwater Advisory Commission.[5][6]
