Willa (stylized inall caps) is an American independent film production and distribution company founded in 2017 byElizabeth Woodward. The company has produced and distributedYou Resemble Me (2021),Another Body (2023) andLa cocina (2024).

History

In 2021, Willa producedYou Resemble Me, directed byDina Amer and executive-produced bySpike Lee,Spike Jonze,Alma Har'el,Riz Ahmed andClaire Denis.[1][2] Willa moved into distribution after the film failed to receive a meaningful distribution offer and passes due to its subject matter.[3][4]

In 2023, Willa produced and co-distributedAnother Body withUtopia, a documentary revolving around a college student findingdeepfake pornography of herself online.[5]

Additionally, Willa has produced the short filmsEverything Wrong and Nowhere to Go forPBS,[6]Merci Poppy andF*ck That Guy directed by Hanna Gray Organschi.[7] In 2025, Willa acquired the short filmA Lien for distribution following its nomination for theAcademy Award for Best Live Action Short Film.[8]
