William "Will" Simpson is aNorthern Irishcomics artist and film and televisionstoryboard andconcept artist.

Born inPrehen,County Londonderry,^[1] he began his career in British comics in the 1980s, drawing "Big Ben" forWarrior magazine in 1984,Transformers forMarvel UK, work for2000 AD, including "Judge Dredd" and "Rogue Trooper", in 1987-91, and "Sex Warrior" forToxic! in 1991.^[2] This led to work in American comics in the 1990s, includingHellblazer andVamps andBatman: Legends of the Dark Knight forDC Comics.^[1] In the 2000s he moved into film and television, providing storyboards and concept art for films like24 Hours in London (2000),Reign of Fire (2002),Breakfast on Pluto (2005) andCity of Ember (2008).^[3] From 2011 until 2019 he was a storyboard and concept artist for theHBO TV seriesGame of Thrones,^[4][5] for which he designed theWhite Walkers as well as all the show's weapons.^[6] A book of his storyboards for the series was published in 2019 by Insight Editions.^[7]
