Hi, flagging upHale School#History, particularly to editors with more expertise in Australian school history than I have. There are some claims here about the school's representation of its own history that are either unsourced or poorly-sourced. I considered cutting everything without a RS, but if we can find sources that would be preferable.Tacyarg (talk)08:20, 3 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Recently, I've come a cross a wide swath of this sort of article where a huge number of external links to the schools' websites have been introduced. The worse case of these wasList of high schools in Texas which had more than 230 external, inline links to the websites of the more than 200 schools that didn't have articles on the project. I removed them all. I've been working my way through other such lists, and have encountered some where instead of doing an inline link, an enterprising editor has done the school websites addresses as citations. Citations to do what, I don't know. Maybe prove their existence? Anyway, I've been removing these as wellexample. But today, Jahaza (@Jahaza: courtesy ping) reverted me[1] indicating they are citations, not external links. Personally, I fail to see the difference whether they are inline or done as citations; it's the same result.WP:NOTLINKFARM notes that Wikipedia is neither a mirror nor a repository of links. Hello, I have submitted a COI edit request for the British School of Bucharest article. The proposed update is neutral and supported by independent sources.
If an uninvolved editor could take a look when convenient, I would be grateful.
