Assess : newly added and existing articles, maybe nominate some good B-class articles forGA; independently assess some as A-class, regardless of GA status.
Blue Square Thing On the source where it said "No content found" there actually was content for matches, and there is something here:[1][2]. But they are primary sources. I think aSelective merge is appropriate. E.G. information on matches could me merged into a new section on the Pre Season, but we don't really need information on the squads for example.Servite et contribuere (talk)15:14, 29 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
We need content that is more than just a database listing to demonstrate notabaility, which is what the cricinfo scorecards are. They seemingly have no prose reporting on the tournament.Spike 'em (talk)15:22, 29 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Spike 'em It is basically a pre season tournament for the WBBL. Only notability it has is it is part of the WBBL. The Brisbane Heat website says it is:[3]. I might have to make a preview on Test cases on a new user subpage.Servite et contribuere (talk)15:25, 29 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The lack of reporting is the problem throughout this. I'd say send the two season articles to AfD first and then consider the overall article - which has more merit or might be merged toWomen's Big Bash League where it doesn't appear to even be mentionedBlue Square Thing (talk)10:32, 30 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
There seems way too much there. If we're going to include all the scorecards there's just simply too much information – I honestly thought they were for the main BBL competition. Personally I'd rather have two paragraphs summarising any pre-season activity – as Spike says above, scorecards are externally held data that we could link to using a reference. But then I tend to think we have far too many scorecards and far too much data held within them anywayBlue Square Thing (talk)10:32, 30 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I've edited down the base article and will add in some history stuff quickly to that. That leaves the two season articles pretty much redundant unless anyone can find any prose reporting that's worth addingBlue Square Thing (talk)10:51, 30 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Blue Square Thing This is literally a disagreement between you and me I guess. I do favour a redirect to the season articles for pre season, but for the main article, ultimately, there is very little to merge. Not like the stats leaders and broadcasters ETC, but there isn't much content anyways. I feel like it's just about which content shall get merged.Servite et contribuere (talk)10:58, 30 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I've sent both season articles to AfD with notes about possible redirections. That's the only way we'll get to a consensus here I think – and I think there's enough time to do so. We can think about the main article after that perhapsBlue Square Thing (talk)11:09, 30 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
The AfDs closed as merge. I've gone ahead and merged all that I think is notable – I really don't see anything more than a very brief summary as notable in either case here. Even that is largely unreferenced and almost all the referencing that there is in the parent article is from Cricket Australia. I'm not going to send it to AfD as I'm already involved, but if someone else does I'd say it'd be touch and go whether it survives – right now I'd have to vote delete based on a lack of sources. Anyway...Blue Square Thing (talk)19:58, 7 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
OK, so in 2022 there appears to have been a competition with this name, competed for by four teams: the three the article has and a Scotland Performance Academy side (CricketArchive). The same three sides played in a variety of competitions between 2010 and then, but don't appear to have played in anything since then. I'll start by trimming the article down and removing the lists of names of not particularly notable people, but I think this one might need to be redirected, perhaps to Cricket Scotland?Blue Square Thing (talk)14:21, 9 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Could someone editors look this article over? I see a lot of changes made and categories removed but I don't know anything about cricket so I thought I'd ask for help here. Thanks in advance for any assistance you can offer.LizRead!Talk!08:50, 9 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I've given it a quick look over and simplified some stuff. It looks like it's the usual "a tournament is happening so a bunch of editors want to add everything really quickly" sort of thing going on rather than anything utterly ridiculous. I've added cats, but there have been so many edits over such a short period of time that it's tricky to know what might be worth keeping. Probably worth waiting 24 hours for the rest of the results to be added before I do anything very much moreBlue Square Thing (talk)13:50, 9 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I don't suppose anyone has a copy of the bookGeorge Brown: England's Most Complete All-Round Cricketer (2018)? It seems to be nearly impossible to get hold of. Judging by a review, it will contain information pertaining to Brown's youth and military record in WWI. Cheers!AA (talk)23:46, 23 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Gale is currently down on the Wikipedia Library, so I am unable to accessThe Times digital archive on Gale. I wonder if anyone has any access that doesn't involve going via Gale and could find his obituary? He died on 3 December 1964, in Winchester. Cheers in advance.AA (talk)22:59, 25 November 2025 (UTC)[reply]
