Hello. There have been talks about me taking over Ichthus at[1]. I was wondering if I could get information on either becoming an editor under you or taking over? @Jstalins, I believe you are editor-in-chief, if you could provide your input on this?

Hello, there. Your recent newsletter said you were looking for writers to contribute. I'm an atheist who likes writing about secular-religious dialogue. In this regard, I really enjoy whatSeth Andrews is doing in terms of bridging the gap between non-theists and Christians. Let me know if I could write something about this topic for your newsletter. For the younger editors here who may not be aware of it, atheist-Christian dialogue is a thing. I'm not sure when it began as a notable field, but in 1968, the Vatican made an official pronouncement on the subject which arose out of the earlier efforts of Pope Paul VI in 1965. I can't speak for other countries, but this kind of dialogue reached its height in the late 1980s, early 1990s in the US, with religious and non-theist secular people meeting for discussion and fellowship. By the early 2000s, this kind of dialogue had all but vanished, except forUnitarian Universalism, which is probably the last surviving remnants of it. There's been talk of atheists forming their own "churches" for fellowship, but it has never really happened. The closest thing is probably the new religiosity of atheists who have embraced transhumanism, which has splintered in more religious directions as of late. This has also had some Christians pursuing the use of LLMs to investigate their own spirituality, sparking concerns that some Christians are beginning to incorporate technology into their belief system, evoking the idea that they will find or create the god they are looking for with AI. Several new articles have come out about this.Viriditas (talk)21:07, 17 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
