The Signpost should write about...[1] Shameless self-plug about an article inThe Korea Times about me and a bunch of Wikipedia articles I wrote in theList of oldest restaurants in South Korea. Think suited for the "In brief" section of "In the media".
Could use this as a base (it's really boring because I'm boring, feel free to spice it up).

I wrote a blogpost where I go over the entire Wikimedia movement and explain how it all works, including (but not limited to) Wikipedia, which I think that it's something that the community would find interesting.
Short draft:
User:Feed_Me_Your_Skin has written an article detailing the entire Wikimedia movement. It goes over the main projects, the software behind the Wikimedia projects, the role of the Wikimedia foundation in managing the movement, and more. To the best of the author's knowledge, this is the most in-depth document that has ever been written about Wikimedia. The author hopes that this article will help spread awareness about the more obscure aspects of Wikimedia and make people more familiar with the other projects. Whether or not you're new to Wikipedia or if you're a seasoned Wikipedian, the author is confident that everybody will find something in this article that they find interesting. Surely there would be plans to cover this without my suggestion, but sharing just in case:

Harry Bruce, son ofCharles Tory Bruce, was a prolific Canadian writer and journalist well-known in Atlantic Canada for his biographical novels and essays. He died nine months ago in August 2024, but somehow never had an article on Wikipedia even after his seven decade career. A little over a week ago I came across his grandson,User:GabrielMABruce, editing articles on my watchlist related toGuysborough County. After extending an invitation toWikiProject Nova Scotia, GabrielMABruce and I talked back and forth on his talk page and he expressed his family's wish to see a Wikipedia article created about his grandfather. We worked together on a draft since then before publishing what we have now. I thought it would be poetic if GabrielMABruce were to write a piece forThe Signpost detailing his experience joining Wikipedia to do this, given the fact that he comes from a long line of journalists and this was an explicit goal of the family. GabrielMABruce has expressed interest in doing so, and I thought this would be the best place to start to see if other editors think this is as cool of a story as I do. With the support of the Internet Archive I have developed a prototypedatabase of citations appearing on Wikipedia. The project seeks to cover the complete history of sources added to, and removed from, Wikipedia articles. This sort of database is not already built into Wikipedia; works cited are not tracked in any central location. Thus the goal of this project is to isolate the references from the wikitext source. Future work will include explicitly associating these citations with known sources, giving editors a view of the kinds of sources that are used (or were formerly used) in an article. The linked wiki page describes the project in further detail. You canaccess a prototype here.

We may have reachedseven million English articles during the time this tip was prepared, but as in most places, the ups come with the downs. From this season: A transgender Wikimedia employee from Texas who was fired after suffering harassment from a remote supervisor based in Kenya, and filed a wrongful-termination lawsuit on the matter this month. Her views and experiences have been shared by other employees for several years.
"K. Mae said she still believes that [Wikimedia] is 'doing good, crucial even, things for the world', but that the organization lacks clear direction and policies to deal with harassment... The 'bigotry' expressed in her lawsuit is 'organization wide' and that most of her former colleagues 'are as against the problems in leadership as I was.'"

For theIn the Media section:Rethinking Wikipedia from a Library Perspective by Nathan Sonnenschein on the blog of the Association of College & Research Libraries (ACRL), a division of theAmerican Library Association. The author argues for increased contributions of librarians to Wikipedia since we have similar goals and because the obstacles to freely accessible and accurate knowledge are growing stronger.

Hi Signpost editors,
I’d like to propose a short feature or blurb about WikiLoop Galaxy (COI: I am the developer of it) — an open-sourced experimental visual interface for exploring the link relationships among Wikipedia articles as an interactive constellation.
WikiLoop Galaxy offers an intuitive way to navigate and make sense of the web of article connections. With a few clicks, editors can visualize how concepts cluster and relate across the encyclopedia, sparking insights about category completeness, navigation gaps, or conceptual silos.
We’d love for Wikipedians to:
The tool itself is here:https://galaxy.wikiloop.org/
If a brief mention or shoutout in The Signpost is possible, it could help bring in new perspectives and energy from across the community.Happy to provide more info or answer questions if helpful. Thanks and warm regards,
