Welcome toWikiProject Women in Red (WiR)!
---
Our objective is to turnred links intoblue ones. Our project's scope is women's representation on all language Wikipedias (biographies, women's works, women's issues, broadly construed). Did you know that only20.29% of the English Wikipedia's biographies are about women? Not impressed?Content gender gap is a form ofsystemic bias, and this is what WiR addresses. We invite you to participate, whenever you like, in whatever way suits you and your schedule. Editors of all genders are equally and warmly welcome at Women in Red!

We hope both inexperienced and seasoned editors will join us in creating biographies and other articles about women in all fields of archaeology, as well as the items they have discovered, their writings, organizations, and awards. This virtual editathon allows enthusiasts from around the globe to participate in our initiative. See below for lists of red-linked women archaeologists for guidance. You are of course also welcome to add articles on any other notable archaeologists who deserve to be covered.
