Welcome toWikiProject Women in Red (WiR)!
---
Our objective is to turnred links intoblue ones. Our project's scope is women's representation on all language Wikipedias (biographies, women's works, women's issues, broadly construed). Did you know that, according toHumaniki, only20.23% of the English Wikipedia's biographies are about women? Not impressed?Content gender gap is a form ofsystemic bias, and this is what WiR addresses. We invite you to participate, whenever you like, in whatever way suits you and your schedule. Editors of all genders are equally and warmly welcome at Women in Red!

In March 2021, we are collaborating again withWhose Knowledge? by encouraging the upload of images to WikiCommons. It's easy;start here. These can be photos or other images related to women, their works, and their issues. Anyone can take part in this event. Please note that the following new category has been developed for this initiative:
Don't forget to include any new images you post on our other meetup pages. We should keep track of all the new images you add to Commons.
If you decide to improve an existing article with your new image, or simply write a new one, you should list it in the normal way under "New or upgraded articles" below.
A wide variety of redlink lists can be found on ourRedlist index. Some of those articles in need of images are here:Occupations without images
