This WikiProject is aimed at creating, improving and managing all articles relating to theU.S. state ofTennessee, including, but not limited to, its cities and counties, geographical features, people, institutions and businesses and history. We strive to maintain the utmost quality in all of these articles, and attempt to properly define their importance in the structure of Tennessee.
-Create articles for old Tennessee newspapers that have been digitized by Chronicling America. The list ishere, with good source material under "More Info." NOTE that several papers have multiple entries due to name changes, but will require only one Wiki article.
-Browse the onlineTennessee Encyclopedia of History and Culture (here) and find entries that need a Wikipedia article (not all will meet notability, but most will; if unsure, post to the project talk page)
-Create or improve articles for notable Tennessee women (possible sources:[1],[2])
-Create an article for the "Night Riders" of Reelfoot Lake (source:[3])
-Create an article for the Memphis Yellow Fever Epidemic of 1878 (sources:[4],[5])
-Create an article for the Elizabethton Rayon Strikes of 1929 (sources:[6]),[7])
-Create an article for Crab Orchard Stone (source:[8]); seeTennessee marble for an example.
-Create an article for the Tennessee General Law Mayor-Aldermanic Charter, a type of charter used by several cities and towns (source:[9])
-Invite frequent TN article editors to join the project
-Help fill thePortal:Tennessee with high quality information about the state. Suggestarticles,biographies,anniversaries for the portal.
-Clean upBrentwood, Tennessee#Notable residents - Find and cite source(s) indicating that the individual lives in Brentwood or did at one time. If no sources exist, delete the name.

I am thinking that several sections of theElizabethton, Tennessee Wiki article first needs to be "more fleshed" out pertaining to several history sections (railroad history, rayon mill-textile workers/union historty history, etc.) before GA status --- I would also like to see content pertaining to the Elizabethton city government and the city parks and rec department.
The red link for a non-existing North American Rayon Corporation should be eliminated with the addition of more detail and perhaps image files about the rayon mills section under history (be sure to follow the Tennessee Encyclopedia external links for detailed material references).4.129.71.18515:05, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
