The goal of theStar Wars Wikiproject is to organize, clean, and improveStar Wars information within a format that fits Wikipedia'sfictional procedures to, ultimately, the level of quality stressed in theFeatured Article andFeatured List guidelines.

Currently, this WikiProject covers the following items:

1. Anyone affiliated with the concept ofStar Wars, including the musicians, casts, and crews of everyStar Wars film.
2. Anything featured on theStar Wars portal.
3. Anything located within aStar Wars orStar Wars-affiliated category, sub-category, list, article, stub, or template.

Our main goals are to:

• ensure that all Star Wars-related articles are clean, organized, well-written, and accessible;
• improve all Star Wars-related articles to at least good article, featured article, and/or featured list status; and
• create new articles relating to Star Wars, as long as they are encyclopedic and adhere to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.

We need the participation of Wikipedians andStar Wars fans alike. Here are some general guidelines to follow.

1. Please sign your name below and introduce yourself in the monthlyroll call section of the talk page.
2. Take a look at recent discussions and thethings to do page to see if your ideas have already been or need to be addressed.
3. Get to know other users so that you can get a sense of the Project's attitude and each member's opinions on what should be merged, expanded, and so on. This will allow you to work better with the team, especially on major projects.
4. Make sure youcite your sources, follow the project's guidelines in addition tostyle guidelines, and follow the discussions and agreements for the project.
5. Look for text that seems biased (seeWP:NPOV) and fix it.
6. Bebold, but do not be reckless. See the above items and the section below for further information on what to do and what not to do.

Promote the project

• Join this project! Add yourself to the list, and add the userbox to your page, to advertise the project to people who happen to pass by.
• Invite people to the project – drop a note on the user talk page of editors working on Star Wars topics who aren't project members.
• Consider promoting the project via theWikipedia Signpost WikiProject desk.

Improve the project

• Update the project pages, archive clutter, and make use of the latestautomation available
• Consult theWikiProject Guide for ideas
• Come up with new ones

Use the project

• Create a new article.

• Expand some of the articles (check outCategory:Star Wars stubs or some of its subcategories), always respecting Wikipedia'sNeutral Point of View Policy. Also, check theWikipedia: Manual of Style.
• Add references to articles which need referencing improving.Biographies of living persons are a particular priority.
• Assess some of theUnassessed Star Wars articles, using the criteria atWikipedia:WikiProject Star Wars/Assessment. Update the project banner on the relevant talk page.

• Check thetalk page for requests for help.
• Check the to do list atWikipedia:WikiProject Star Wars/to do

Do not:

1. Insertun-cited and trivial information (see:Fancruft).
2. Revert war (adherence to theThree Revert Rule is encouraged)
3. Addoriginal research,unsourced claims, speculation,point of view, excess video game information, vandalism, andpatent nonsense.

1. This is a general interest encyclopedia, notGameFAQs orWookieepedia. In fact, look to see if your article is already in Wookieepedia, there's a good chance there is at least a stub article, if not a full history and background of the character that goes into far more detail than Wikipedia wants.
2. Only a few characters, items, or spaceships deserve their own entry.
3. See:What Wikipedia is Not.
4. Again, we stress: this project is mainly for cleanup, organization, enhancement, factual fixes, and so on. Trivial information and fanfiction are frowned upon.

If some of these items seem redundant, it only underscores what we all believe in as a group.

The following is a chart of our largest tasks. For a complete list, please see thethings to do subpage, in addition to our talk page. See the opentask template at the top of the page for the priority tasks. Project members, this chart should feature "priority one" tasks!

1. Revamp this WikiProject page and revitalizing the project itself.
2. Recruit new members to help with tasks on our to-do list.
3. Begin aCollaboration of the Month forStar Wars articles.

• See theWikipedia:WikiProject Star Wars/index for a list of Star Wars-related articles that do not require significant attention. Chances are, if an item doesn't belong on that list or isn't on there, it needs to be fixed (make a note on the things to do page and/or the discussion page).

This is a list of recognized content, updated weekly byJL-Bot (talk ·contribs) (typically on Saturdays). There is no need to edit the list yourself.
