ForTuqaq. I cannot be certain that this book was ever published.

The book is claimed to belong to the "Studies in the History of Iran and Turkey" series, but the publisher'swebsite of the series does not mention the book. Acc. to Worldcat, the book is availableonly in theRoyal Library of Denmark which is indicative of the book being never published at the first place. @Extraordinary Writ: hey, I tried to find it too at TWL Springer Link but without any success. Please explain your steps to find it there? Thank you –Doc TaxonTalk 23:54, 12. Dec 2022 (UTC)
Doc Taxon, what I did was I searched on Google for "Minorities in Iran: Nationalism and Ethnicity after Khomeini", which brought upthis Springer page with a URL of https://link.springer.com/book/10.1057/9781137047809. The TWL Springer Link URL ishttps://link-springer-com.wikipedialibrary.idm.oclc.org. When you combine the two, you gethttps://link-springer-com.wikipedialibrary.idm.oclc.org/book/10.1057/9781137047809, which just so happened to work. (I think you can also find it in the Springer Link search engine if youjust search for "Minorities in Iran" without the subtitle.) Hope this helps.Extraordinary Writ (talk)00:05, 13 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

ForNATO phonetic alphabet. Here is a PDF of the TOC; I'm looking for just the one or two pages of appendix B. I couldn't find it at the Wikipedia Library.

This is the source used on German Wikipedia for the pronunciation of the NATO/ICAO alphabet. This is relevant because the old ICAO publication has several obvious errors and has never been corrected; it is also in conflict with NATO and the FAA. I'd like to verify that there are no typos in the copy at WP-de. (I.e. that some apparent errors there are as-is.)

I believe that only the letters of the alphabet are covered. However, if numbers are included, I request them as well.

If it is possible to photocopy the table or chart in Appendix B and upload it to Commons, to complement the older ICAO and US military tables that we have, that would make a nice resource for the many language WP's that have articles on this topic.

Thanks— kwami (talk)21:40, 22 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Kwamikagami, you definitely cannot upload them on Commons because the norms are copyrighted and cost almost €100 to download.
But I have access to the draft (here) if you need it; registration is required). It shouldn't be that much different, and if any changes did appear, well, we'd correct them.
If you need the actual standard, though, you'd have to wait at least until Tuesday. I'll try to send you photos of that appendix.Szmenderowiecki (talk)17:38, 25 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks!
That is quite different from what was posted on WP-de. Much simpler, and without some of the obvious nonsense.
If what you find differs, please let me know, but yes, please send photos of the appendix if you can, just to make sure there are no corrections needed.— kwami (talk)23:03, 25 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I'll try to be quick. Please send me a wikimail so that I can send you the pictures. IDK after all the usage of Wikipedia email system if the sender's email is shown or is concealed under the Wikimedia's email address, so it would be good if you wrote me the destination email in plaintext.Szmenderowiecki (talk)00:18, 26 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Sent. Thanks for your help.— kwami (talk)05:38, 26 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
OK, so I've been to the standards reading room in my country and they don't have DIN standards at all, and I'm afraid they are not available in the country (particularly since this particular standard is about language and not some technical characteristics and conventions). I tried my best, but there's nothing at this stage I can do.Szmenderowiecki (talk)08:39, 27 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for all your effort. The draft you found should be good enough, I think. I've used it to correct WP-de, and there aren't any obvious errors in it that suggest it would have needed to have been modified.— kwami (talk)08:48, 27 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Canadian TV ratings data (specifically 1987-1992)

[edit]

Sorry if this seems like an odd request because I'm not looking for one specific work/journal. I was directed here by someone else. I'm in a so far eighteen-month long process of improving the coverage of the Degrassi teen drama franchise, specifically to do with the 80s/90s versions of the franchise, which aired on CBC. I'm specifically looking for any Canadian ratings data between 1987 and 1992 if any exists to cite the same way pages about American shows cite Nielsen ratings. Various newspapers of the time claim the show averaged over a million followers weekly, and I'm looking for exact figures to add for each episode to support this instead of going off estimates.ToQ100gou (talk)08:54, 11 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

ForEliza Stephens, aka Anna Elisabetha Planta For the 1st one the article is talking aboutde:Christian Gottlieb Bunge and his family, specifically his wife Melanie and son, Nikolai Bunge. I've given the link on page 55 of the snippet that relates to Melanie, cousin of Speransky's wife Elizabeth Stephens. I am assuming, as it is on page 55 and the snippet says 1958 that it is from the first issue of volume 5. The list of issues I found are given as 5. Jahrg., Hft. 1 (Okt. 1958); 5. Jahrg., Hft. 2 (Jan. 1959); 5. Jahrg., Hft. 3 (März 1959); and 5. Jahrg., Hft. 4 (Juli 1959), but I cannot find any that I can access from Mexico.

The second is a source given inthis book by Erik Amburger, p 79 footnote 241, giving the death date of 25 December 1815 for Speransky's mother-in-law (also Elizabeth Stephens). I have no idea if the original work is actually in Slovenian or if it was translated to that name for publication in the German book by Amburger. I get that both of these are long shots, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

The secondsource has been found! Still need the first one.SusunW (talk)20:00, 27 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I think the first article is by Erik Amburger and called "Deutsch-baltische Ahnen deutscher Gelehrter in Russland". It should be pp. 54–63 of the "Baltische Hefte" linked to above. —Kusma (talk)11:26, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Added to the citation above. —Kusma (talk)14:37, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Looking through KVK, it seems reasonably widely held in Germany. —Kusma (talk)14:42, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
ThanksKusma! I hope that is the name and appreciate your help. The journal also seems to be fairly widely held in the US, but the closest place to me is in New Orleans, which is 1000 km/620 miles from me as the crow flies and by road over 3000 km / 1900 miles. Story of my life.SusunW (talk)18:49, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@SusunW, I am certain this is the name. It is volume 5 for 1958/59. Amburger cites it on p. 418 ofthis publication. —Kusma (talk)19:02, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
