WikiProject Omaha was started on May 3, 2008 to coordinate work on articles related to the articleOmaha in the English Wikipedia. SomeWikipedians have adopted this as aproject to better organize information in articles related to the city ofOmaha in theU.S. state ofNebraska.

ThisWikiProject aims to coordinate improvement efforts on articles related toOmaha, and includes all articles in theOmaha-Council Bluffs metropolitan area. However, it welcomes contributions from the entire Omaha area. It is also an aim of this project to bring the Omaha city article up to Featured Article status, in part by bringing it up to the standards defined byWikiProject Cities.

Goals

  • To provide guidelines and recommendations for articles that describe all aspects of the city of Omaha and thesurrounding metropolitan area.
  • To improve Wikipedia's coverage of Omaha by creating, expanding, and maintaining such articles and related portal.
  • To serve as the central point of discussion for issues related to Omaha in Wikipedia.
  • Establish maintain Wikipedia as one of the premier online information resources on the Omaha metropolitan area.
