Crowded House are an immensely popular Australian-New Zealand rock band formed inMelbourne in 1986 by New Zealand singer-songwriter Neil Finn and Australian musiciansPaul Hester andNick Seymour after the breakup of New Zealand new wave band Split Enz. The band had an international following and Split Enz are a highly popular and eclectic musical group fromNew Zealand. Crowded House and Split Enz are closely tied as Tim Finn and Neil Finn have both been key songwriters for each and both led Split Enz at different periods, while Neil Finn has led Crowded House since its inception following Split Enz's breakup.
