This image is uploaded as no-free but also includes a claim that the image has been licensed as CC BY-SA 4.0. It can be one or the other but not both.
The uploader has stated that they have paid a fee to license this image stating "My payment for one-time Wikipedia use covers a CC BY-SA 4.0 license." This statement contradicts a CC-BY-SA 4.0 license in that a free license cannot restrict this to a one time use on Wikipedia. The same image has been uploaded to Commons asc:File:5873-2 web from Cranbrook for Wikipedia only.jpg with OTRS pending. If the image is confirmed to be CC-BY-SA 4.0, then there is no need for this file here on the English Wikipedia.
Addressing this image a non-free work, the stated purpose is "...illustrates Oliver LaGrone as an active student of sculpture at Cranbrook, as set forth in the text of the wiki on LaGrone." However, text alone provides the information that LaGrone was there. As such it failsWP:NFCC#1, and with no significant sourced commentary about the image, also failsWP:NFCC#8. Note that we do have a free image of the subject in the article (File:Artist Oliver LaGrone with mallet and "Mercy" model, from- Archives of American Art - Oliver LaGrone - 2214 (cropped).jpg), so the fact that the subject is deceased would not be a reason for including this image as non-free.
Regardless of how the license issue resolves, we end up with deleting this image on the English Wikipedia.Whpq (talk)16:52, 12 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
