Fifth Deuba cabinet - when fixing something I got this when previewing: "Preview warning: Page using Template:Infobox government cabinet with unknown parameter "total_members"". I do not know enough about the Nepalese government's structure nor the infobox template used to fix it myself, but the provided value of "5" seems wrong to me (as there were more than 5 ministers), and the parameter name is obviously wrong. If anyone could fix this, it would be greatly appreciated.OutsideNormality (talk)02:48, 4 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Many "List of [country] films of [year]" need cleanup for improper use of color (MOS:COLOR); poor organization/lack of sorting (MOS:TABLE); unnecessary line breaks in month names (WP:ACCESSIBILITY, can abbreviate perMOS:DATE). The second two issues can mainly be fixed by properly using{{dts}}. I first noticed this issue atList of German films of 2025, and fixed the issue inthis edit. I then realized this odd and inaccessible formatting is in dozens of articles, including high-traffic ones. I have formed a partial list below.
Comment: just a passer-by walking through; i know all the "list of [country] films of [year]" use the colors in the months and the weird line breaks in them but i agree withWracking that it is pretty inaccessible to have it formatted like that, and to align it more with OP's edit:[1]. i did this change forList of German films of 2024 before realizing i should probably ask for consensus first. looking at it, as early as 2022 were pages in the film space were being transformed into this format, then it spread from there, mostly from editing byipeditors (which i suspect are the same person?)penguuiin(talk talk to me!)14:30, 10 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Done I removed the whole unsourced subsection with advice/instructions and removed the warning template. The rest of the article is pretty much OK now.Lijil (talk)06:27, 17 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Shenyi and most articles inCategory: Chinese traditional clothing. These seem to have been written by people who are not comfortable with English. Awkward, stilted and repetitive phrasing; references of dubious quality (I've come across a single Tumblr post as a source!) and Chinese-focused non-neutral point of view (frequent references to "barbarians" without unpacking the term; assumptions that Korean and Vietnamese versions of clothes are pale imitations, etc.). I've done some scattershot work across the category but it needs more focus than I can give it. —A garbage person (talk)00:29, 30 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It seems that the link you provided for the 'Category: Chinese traditional clothing' page leads to a 'Bad link' landing page because it contains an illegal character. I've made some changes to the Shenyi article that you linked to directly.Wonge1145 (talk)16:40, 30 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I thinkA garpage person was trying to re-label the link as one would a wikilink (e.g.[[WP:Example|test]] producestest) despite it being an external link (e.g.[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Example test] producestest), leading to the pipe character being appended to the URL. The intended target of the link was likelyCategory:Chinese traditional clothing, as stated on the "Bad title" page.
By the way, the editing looks to be coming along nicely!
Thank youDaℤyzzos! I was indeed intending to link that whole category, including the ones under Hanfu, but it's been some time since I've done so.
Most articles need serious grammar and clarity edits. I'm mostly absorbed in fixing the language and transliteration tags, so help on any page is greatly appreciated!A garbage person (talk)18:59, 30 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Passenger rail transport in China - Pinyin transcriptions of poor quality. Frequent grammar errors and low style. Multiple bad sources with poor verifiability leading to potential factual errors. I'd already improved upon some parts (details in edit history) but some parts still need additional improvement.Wonge1145 (talk)20:15, 29 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Norman Lacy Can you please help me with a clean up?the message is here:"This article may require cleanup to meet Wikipedia's quality standards. The specific problem is: The use of italics goes against MOS:ITALICS. (June 2025)This article's use of external links may not follow Wikipedia's policies or guidelines. (June 2025)Constructs such as ibid., loc. cit. and idem are discouraged by Wikipedia's style guide for footnotes, as they are easily broken. Please improve this article by replacing them with named references (quick guide), or an abbreviated title. (June 2025)"— Precedingunsigned comment added byHenry Austen (talk •contribs) 19 July 2025
A question I have after doing a bit of reading into the subject is whether it is notable as a standalone article. Does it havesignificant coverage from sources independent of the subject? Does it pass asearch engine test?
It's a good start, and don't let me discourage you (or anybody else) from working on and improving the article. Just food for thought.Horse.staple (talk)09:45, 26 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Knattspyrnufélagið Víkingur - In justthree edits, the citation style in the article was completely changed fromthe pre-established style since 2016 to CS1 contrary toWP:CITEVAR while trying to "fix bare URLs"[sic], and in the process, ruined many formerly-good refs by mangling the last= and first= fields, as well as destroying (quite literally; the sources are now shallow and the title is useless) 2 usurped sources. Could anyone tackle this (especially fixing the usurped sources, as I do not know how I would match the previous style while removing the usurped link at the same time)? The original deep-linked usurped sources (including archive links!) are available in the diff. Thanks.Victoria (OutsideNormality) /talk20:58, 9 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Partly done I have filled in 3 Bare References with ReFill. Let me know if there are any errors from this, but from my side there appears to be no errors from this edit.Cooldudeseven7talk/contribs17:13, 2 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Done: Cleaned up bare URLs and removed content aggregator perWP:USERG. Also changed format of the references to Billboard and Mix Magazine from cite web to cite news to include the specific volume/issue and page numbers.Horse.staple (talk)07:19, 31 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Michael Palance `{{cite web}}: |last2= has generic name (help)` on the LA Times reference. Also the controversies paragraph should be expanded into it's own section and have more clarity. There have been multiple articles that highlight different controversies.Ashwin060 (talk)06:17, 30 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Partly done I removed a few of the non-free images from the article body, and made a couple slight tweaks to wording. Commons has some images related to Kumbhakarna that I may revisit at some point in the future, but I think this is a good starting point.Horse.staple (talk)12:45, 8 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Joan A. Steitz - Recent additions byRollingwithit2025 have introduced a significant number of issues throughout the article. While I assume these edits were well-intentioned (the user appears to be a student who made the edits as part of a college course), they have decreased the quality of the article and may need to be rolled back.Tacobellscannon (talk)
Richard Harrington (actor) - the filmography tables should be separated by film and television for organizational purposes. Phrases like "TV series (3 episodes)" should just be "3 episodes", and phrases like "TV series (1 episode: "Communal Living")" should just be "Episode: "Communal Living".Lacon432 (talk)07:29, 29 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Fixed. The listing of David Bowie etc. on there is (seemingly—I've never heard the songs in question) beccause Adam F (re)mixed these songs and released those versions as singles. –Daℤyzzos (✉️ • 📤)22:42, 22 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Request made in MediaWiki talk:Spam-whitelist, titled "Genovese sauce source link". Site that was referenced went defunct, Hal Licino electronically published same titled recipe with dishably in 2022. Will mark done when approved.
Comment:Based on the original blogs title and matching up the source info. Fairly certain the web author wanted to change the page's title and move it to the magazine section because it was more of an informational web article. Link was found by Google advance search for Myrtle with URL domain. Only 6 webpages came up. Then info in wiki article was inline checked for matches after which a Google and advanced search was done to verify inline facts at the same URL, no other webpage matched perfectly as source.https://mortadellabologna.com/magazine/protagonisti-di-un-mito/padri-del-nome-mortaio-o-mirto/. If you are uncertain, I can contact thru the website for further verification. Will this workRCSCott91 (talk)04:40, 31 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Done Placed new link to article. No article is publicly shown on the July 2012 issue of Psychology today that remotely matches the source title but I also can't find any authored articles by Ray Williams publicly viewable on psychology today's website yet his work is referenced by other editorials on the website. I assume some type of copyright agreement was made between Ray Williams and Psychology Today. He seems to have viewable copies of his alleged editorials. The one referenced can be found on LinkedIn.RCSCott91 (talk)04:29, 31 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Jon Woods - puffery and conclusions not based on citations; and it implies a conspiracy theory about his endorsement of Trump in 2016. It looks like his political campaign staff wrote it.User:KulovCCCP16:13, 20 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Kongjian Yu - For a reasonably notable figure (I am not particularly interested in planning, but I have heard of his "sponge cities"), the article is in an odd state. I have tried to fix the most blatant spelling and grammar errors, but it is still very repetitive and oddly structured (e.g., 'Achievements' section describes awards and honors, some of which are also in 'Awards' section) and has some strange verbiage. I think it needs to be looked at by an expert on the subject.Eelmealdeal (talk)01:05, 15 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Partly done Am no expert but created a table of the projects and made all the book refs into citation format. Not touching the main body of text!BJCHK (talk)13:09, 16 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Note:I have created a simplified table with just names and dates and moved all the biographies to below, ready for addition of citations / editing, which is still very much in needBJCHK (talk)09:09, 10 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I tried my best to clean up the bare URLs and raw wikitext, but I am an inexperienced editor, so it'd be best if someone else looked over the article as well. Also, I wasn't able to find a source to complete the table, so the information is still incomplete.Mr McPerson (talk)18:43, 19 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Struck the above. The remaining maintenance tags in the article at this time are for the addition of references, which is outside of the purview of this project.North America100005:51, 18 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I've cleaned up the references by standardizing citation formatting, replacing bare URLs with full citations, and adding Wayback Machine archive links for sources that are no longer accessible.SergeGardien (talk)23:27, 6 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Josh Viola – last two paragraphs of Background need to be cleaned up, so does the title box, and the "Filmography" and "Video Games" sections need to be combined and cleaned up as well, possibly removed as most of these aren't even out yet. The IMDB page should be added in the external links as well.https://www.imdb.com/name/nm5242049/Lacon432 (talk)12:55, 20 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think there is. Usual policy is for non-affiliated topics to just go with first come, first serve, and don't change from there unless an affiliation is clear or local consensus is very clear to change it for some reason. That means Italy related topics could very well have a mix of American and British English, and that's not a problem as far as wikipedia is really concerned.Fieari (talk)07:04, 12 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Washington Monument - History section contains an important discussion about slavery which is written in a subsection where it dominates other aspects. Probably needs its own subsection somewhere within History and some amount of rewriting but I'm not comfortable doing itJust-a-can-of-beans (talk)23:08, 10 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Comment: This article has the most nightmarish citation style I've ever seen in the enwiki. I have no idea why anyone would've thought this wouldve been the right way to cite. --00101984hjw (talk)00:46, 1 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I removed a couple cleanup tags that didn't seem to fit the state of the article, butholy crap, you're not kidding about the excessive citations and detail. I don't really feel competent in deciding what should be cut or not (are all these preliminary and practice rankings necessary?), so I've just started focusing on the grammar to the best of my ability. But someone who knows more about racing (read: knows something about racing) should probably come in here with an axe! Maybe a blunt one!Fieari (talk)04:47, 9 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Comment: I suppose you could say the article itself is structured critically.[Joke]But on a serious not, the article's most major contributor is an IP from2005, and the second most major seems to beSmackBot. — Daℤyzzos (✉️ • 📤)13:29, 13 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah I really don't know anything about the topic nor how to clean the article up. Plus there is a similar article. Perhaps merging the two would be the bestAsaQuathern (talk)16:21, 13 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@JacktheBrown I went through and removed what I thought were unnecessary links (eg potatoes, tomatoes, wine) and repeats (eg neapolitan pizza, Tuscan/Tuscany) but it seems they were all rolled back. So I will leave it for someone else to look at.BJCHK (talk)02:10, 1 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Temi Adeniji - The article may require general cleanup, as most of its information is incorrect. I have addressed it on thetalk page for easy editing and I have been trying to do that since yesterday, my edit keeps being reversed for this reasonWP:CDNI. --Afí-afeti (talk)14:53, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Partly done The intro needs expanding again but at least now actually contains some relevant text. Rest of the article still needs some TLC. -OXYLYPSE (talk)13:48, 19 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Jon-Adrian Velazquez - general cleanup. This article is pretty distorted. The film inspired by him (which isn't linked in the article) is placed upward in the article, and all the sections are jumbled and not chronological.Lacon432 (talk)03:14, 7 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Partly done I fixed the permanent deadlink issues. However as for the formatting problem it appears that the link to George De Stefano's article has been deleted. I cannot find whether there has been an archive for that url. --00101984hjw (talk)23:35, 27 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Slip of the Tongue – most of the article's structure needs to get a re-write and cleaning. Most structure and wording is bad, general ref and article clean-up is needed. Article expansion is necessary. --HereIGoAgain (talk)
@00101984hjw: Thank you for that. Unfortunately, it seems like the article has gotten worse, with 90% of it being a list of who he's worked with and the only thing about the subject being his engagement & marriage.BOTTO (T•C)19:54, 28 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@00101984hjw: At this point, it's probably best for the article to be AfD'd. I don't exactly see it as being salvageable, after what little could be left after it's stripped down of everything that's not even about the subject matter.BOTTO (T•C)14:04, 11 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
You could try going toyour preferences, and check the "Enabling the editing toolbar" box. After saving, the toolbar should appear at the top of the editing interface; click "Cite", then in the "Templates" drop down menu click on either "Cite web" or "Cite news" depending on the source. Fill in the boxes and you should get nice looking sources.A♭m(Ring!)(Notes)07:49, 26 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Tu'i Pulotu - Fixes needed in tone, almost written like an explanatory essay. Fails to be an Wikipedia article at all, and needs to have more sources, as it only relies on one.User:Blackmamba31248 (talk)
Geoff Ramsey - nearly every source failsWP:RS andWP:QUESTIONED. Anything citing Reddit, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube, podcasts, the Rooster Teeth website, or primary sources should be removed.
Struck at this time. This project does not accept requests for additional sources or citations to be added to articles. However, the improvements performed are certainly appreciated.North America100012:34, 25 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Solar reforming - This is an article about a scientific topic and is written with appropriate clarity and references. However some clean up may be needed to improve the content according to Wiki standards Help is appreciatedASB95
8 Canada Square — I'm sure a few of the recent changes were done in good faith but overall the format just seems unacceptable now. One of the references is literally to a reddit post. I'm seeing if we can amend the page to meet wiki standards or just rollback the entire thing. - ImcdcContact15:28, 16 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
