Categories are a vital tool for navigating Wikipedia.
When categorizing pages:
DO:
Use themost specific categories possible.
Categorize based ondefining characteristics.
Add pages to multiple categories inoverlapping trees.
Providesort keys or a{{DEFAULTSORT:}} key.
Addcleanup templates where needed.
DON'T:
Don't add pages tonon-existent categories.
Don't categorize based ontrivial characteristics.
Don't add pages tonon-neutral orunverifiable categories.
Don't categorizefictional subjects together with real ones.
Don't applymaintenance categories directly: use templates.
