In order to help to view texts inBangla (Bengali) properly, you need to have your computer set up to see web pages encoded in UnicodeBangla scripts. To do this, you need to have a Unicode capable browser and Unicode Bangla fonts. BothInternet Explorer andFirefox's latest versions support viewingBangla scripts once you install the fonts.

If the rendering on your computer matches the rendering on the image, then you computer has automatically already enabled complex text support forBangla and should be able to view text correctly inBangla script.
However, this may not mean you will be able to edit text inBangla. To edit (typing support) such text you need to have install the appropriate keyboard layout or software on your operating system fortyping support in Bangla.
These operating systems contain no support forBangla script. DownloadingInternet Explorer 6.0 should enable you to viewBangla script on these operating systems but you will not be able to edit any Bangla text. If after downloading Internet Explorer, you still cannot view Bangla script please install an appropriate Unicode Bangla font. Mozilla Firefox does not support Bangla script on these operating systems.

Bangla input manager and fonts for macOS is available fromEkushey Note that this doesn't work very well in applications such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Specifically, conjunctions do not work in these applications (and possibly some other apps) when using the Ekushey Bangla keyboard.
You do not need to do anything to enable viewing of Bangla text inGnome 2.8 or later. Ensure you have Bangla Unicode fonts.
When usingMozilla orFirefox, you must enablePango rendering by openingxterm and typingMOZ_ENABLE_PANGO=1 mozilla orMOZ_ENABLE_PANGO=1 firefox. After this, all future sessions of Mozilla or Firefox will have Bangla language support. This will work only on Firefox compiled withctl support. Only the firefox binaries supplied byFedora Core 4 andUbuntu Linux are compiled with this ctl and set this option, by default.
