
Whittington Park is a public park inUpper Holloway, NorthLondon. Like the nearbyWhittington Hospital, it is named afterDick Whittington, and a large topiary cat, in reference to Whittington's legendary pet, stands at theHolloway Road entrance. Amenities include a raisedAstroturf football pitch, children's playground, and experimental garden planted as part of anRSPB initiative to investigate the preferred habitat ofhouse sparrows.[1] In 2009 and 2010, renovations were carried out at Whittington Park, including the construction of a new community centre.
