According to theUnited States Census Bureau, the CDP covers an area of 1.3 square miles (3.4 km2), 99.16% of it land and 0.84% of it water.[1] Whitley Gardens is located on theEstrella River.

Whitley Gardens first appeared as acensus designated place in the2010 U.S. census.[19]
The2020 United States census reported that Whitley Gardens had a population of 325, all of whom lived in households. The population density was 236.0 inhabitants per square mile (91.1/km2). The racial makeup was 220 (67.7%)White, 5 (1.5%)African American, 12 (3.7%)Native American, 0 (0.0%)Asian, 0 (0.0%)Pacific Islander, 19 (5.8%) fromother races, and 69 (21.2%) from two or more races.Hispanic or Latino of any race were 86 persons (26.5%).[20]
There were 122 households, out of which 45 (36.9%) had children under the age of 18 living in them, 85 (69.7%) were married-couple households, 3 (2.5%) werecohabiting couple households, 14 (11.5%) had a female householder with no partner present, and 20 (16.4%) had a male householder with no partner present. 19 households (15.6%) were one person, and 13 (10.7%) were one person aged 65 or older. The average household size was 2.66.[20] There were 98families (80.3% of all households).[21]
The age distribution was 72 people (22.2%) under the age of 18, 19 people (5.8%) aged 18 to 24, 59 people (18.2%) aged 25 to 44, 113 people (34.8%) aged 45 to 64, and 62 people (19.1%) who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 46.9 years. For every 100 females, there were 72.9 males.[20]
There were 126 housing units at an average density of 91.5 units per square mile (35.3 units/km2), of which 122 (96.8%) were occupied. Of these, 106 (86.9%) were owner-occupied, and 16 (13.1%) were occupied by renters.[20]
