Fictional character biography

[edit]

After his parents died in a plane crash inWakanda, Hunter was adopted by KingT'Chaka.[11] Being awhite foreigner, Hunter was viewed with suspicion and even contempt by the cautious Wakandans. Despite this, he developed a true love for Wakanda as one of his adopted homeland's staunchest patriots.[12] Hunter knew he would never ascend to the throne withT'Challa as the true heir and, feeling cheated, developed deep jealousy for him. He drove himself to be the best Wakandan possible in an attempt to upstage his adopted brother, becoming the leader of Hatut Zeraze, thesecret police of Wakanda.[13][14]

When the current Black Panther disbands the Hatut Zeraze due to their brutality, White Wolf and his subordinates leave Wakanda to work asmercenaries. Though resentful of this situation, White Wolf still harbors a love for his adopted home country and agrees to aid Black Panther when necessary.[15]

During the "Dark Reign" storyline,Quasimodo researched White Wolf forNorman Osborn. He recommends to Osborn to have a brief alliance with White Wolf when it comes to dealing with Wakanda's defenses. In the longer term, White Wolf would view Osborn as an enemy.[16]

Hunter became displeased that T'Challa abdicated the Wakandan throne to protectHell's Kitchen, Manhattan (T'Challa's goal was to test himself after recent losses andMatt Murdock needed time to heal after recent events). In retaliation, he killed some people to take the Black Panther mantle from T'Challa. When Black Panther defeated White Wolf, he was told that Wakanda has no place for murderers.[17]

During the "Empyre" storyline, White Wolf and the Hatut Zeraze appeared among the Wakandans who fought theCotati in Khartoum.[18]

At the time when Wakanda transitioned into a parliamentary democracy, White Wolf started sowing discord into Wakanda by taking advantage of the "Wakanda Forever" movement and infecting immigrants to Wakanda with a bioweapon he obtained. White Wolf was defeated byCaptain America andNomad (Ian Rogers) and remanded to the Mohanndan prison.[19]

Revolutionary later sprung White Wolf from prison and they kidnapped Ian Rogers as part of a plot to unleash the forces of Dimension Z.[20] Both of them were defeated by bothCaptain Americas alongside the Dimension Z monsters.[21]

Powers and abilities

[edit]

White Wolf is an expert at hand-to-hand combat. His suit is made ofvibranium mesh and possesses a special cloaking technology.[22] His costume stops bullets in mid-flight, is immune to slashes, and can double as a business suit.
