Westmill Woodland Burial Ground is agreen burial ground[1] in theVale of White Horse on the border ofOxfordshire withWiltshire in southernEngland. In the distance, theUffington White Horse, anIron Age horse carved into the whitechalk on theBerkshire Downs, can be seen to the south-east.
Theburial ground is inWatchfield parish, north-west of Watchfield village and north ofShrivenham. Close to the site areWestmill Wind Farm andWestmill Solar Park, tworenewable energy resources.
The business was founded and is managed by Liz Rothchild,[2][3] who is also Director ofKicking the Bucket, a festival about living and dying.[4] Thecommunity interest company Westmill Woodland Burial Ground C.I.C. runs the ground.[5][6]
The site is intended fornatural burials and is in a rural setting. It won the 2015Cemetery of the Year award in the 2015Good Funeral Awards.[7]
