Westleigh is a village andcivil parish in theNorth Devon district, in theEnglish County ofDevon.
St Peter's Church in Westleigh was used for the church scene in the 1970s British horror filmThe Shout and local villagers were used asextras both in the church service scene and in the surrounding street scenes.
Tapeley Park, acountry house, is located within the parish.[1] The village overlooks theTaw andTorridge Estuary.[2]
To the South of Westleigh is the hamlet ofSouthcott.
