Wendi Nix (born September 17, 1974) was an American anchor and sports reporter.
Nix is the former co-host of ESPN's number one program,NFL Live. Nix primarily handled coverage forNFL and college football games featuring teams from theNew England area. Prior to working for ESPN, Nix was a weekend sports anchor atWHDH in Boston (2003–2006) and previously reported forFox Sports Net,NESN andWPDE inSouth Carolina. Nix remains an occasional guest analyst on the weekend showSports Extra on WHDH.[1]
Nix was born inMurrells Inlet, South Carolina.[1] She is a 1992 graduate ofSocastee High School, where she was a cheerleader, a three-time homecoming queen, and a member of the track team.[1] She has received degrees fromUnion County College inCranford, New Jersey, theUniversity of Massachusetts Amherst,[2] andWofford College[2] inSpartanburg, South Carolina. At Wofford, Nix was president of the student body and captain of the golf team;[1] she is a proud fan and supporter of the Terriers.[3] She babysat futureLas Vegas Raiders wide receiverHunter Renfrow.[4]
Nix's marriage toPittsburgh Pirates general managerBen Cherington, whom she met atUMass,[3] ended in 2010; they share two daughters. She has been married to Joseph Ritchie since December 10, 2011.
