Wehiwa Kapahulehua Aloy (born February 4, 2004) is an American professionalbaseballshortstop in theBaltimore Orioles organization. He previously playedcollege baseball for theSacramento State Hornets andArkansas Razorbacks.
Aloy attendedHenry Perrine Baldwin High School inWailuku, Hawaii. After graduating in 2022, he enrolled atSacramento State University to playcollege baseball. Over 56 games as a freshman in 2023, he hit .376 with 14 home runs and 46 RBI and was named theWestern Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year.[1] After the season, he transferred to theUniversity of Arkansas.[2]
Aloy started sixty games at shortstop for Arkansas during the 2024 season, batting .270 with 14 home runs and 56 RBI.[3] That summer, he played in theCape Cod Baseball League with theYarmouth-Dennis Red Sox, with whom he earned Player of the Week honors in July.[4][5]
Aloy returned as Arkansas' starting shortstop in 2025.[6] Over 65 games, he hit .350 with 21 home runs and 68 RBI. He was named to theSEC First Team, was named theSoutheastern Conference Baseball Player of the Year, and was awarded the 2025Golden Spikes Award.[7][8][9] Aloy is the third Razorback to win the Golden Spikes Award, along withAndrew Benintendi andKevin Kopps. Aloy helped Arkansas to the2025 College World Series where they finished third with an overall record of 50-15.
Aloy was selected by theBaltimore Orioles with the 31st overall pick in the2025 Major League Baseball draft.[10] He signed with Baltimore for a full-slot, $3.042 million signing bonus on July 19, 2025.[11]
Aloy made his professional debut after signing with theDelmarva Shorebirds.[12]
Aloy's father, Jamie, played college baseball at theUniversity of Hawaiʻi and was selected in the1999 Major League Baseball draft. His younger brother, Kuhio, also plays baseball at Arkansas, and was also named First Team SEC in 2025.[13]
