Weer en Verkeer (in EnglishWeather and Traffic Channel) was atelevision channel in theNetherlands broadcastingweather forecasts, weather-related news andtraffic information. The forecasts and traffic reports were provided by a major Dutch meteorological companyMeteo Consult inWageningen which also provides the weather forecasts forRTL 4.Weer en Verkeer has been a joint venture between Meteo Consult andChello Benelux (Liberty Global).[1]
The channel was launched on 15 February 2006 under the nameWeerkanaal (Weather Channel).[2]
In December 2008, the channel got its current name.[3]
The channel closed on 1 October 2013.[4]
