wd~50 was amolecular gastronomy New American/international restaurant inManhattan,New York City.[1] It was opened on April 9, 2003 by chefWylie Dufresne.[2][3] wd~50 closed November 30, 2014.[4]

Awards and ratings

It was listed among theS. Pellegrino World's 50 Best Restaurants for 2010.[5] In 2006 the restaurant received aMichelin star in the New York City guide, which it retained until it closed.[6]

In 2013,Zagat gave it a food rating of 25 out of 30.[1]

Closure

On June 10, 2014,The New York Times reported that wd~50 would be closing due to areal estate developer planning on constructing a new building at the site;[7] The restaurant closed on November 30, 2014.[8] The restaurant was located at 50 Clinton Street (betweenRivington Street andStanton Street), on theLower East Side.
