Water Grill is a fine-dining seafood restaurant in theUnited States. The original location is inDowntown Los Angeles.Additional locations are inSanta Monica,San Diego,Costa Mesa,Denver,Bellevue andLas Vegas. It is owned byKing's Seafood Company.
The original location is in Los Angeles. It is in thePacMutual Building. The architecture isArt Deco, including carved ceilings,brass doors, marble walls, and leather seats.[2][3] Water Grill served "concept" seafood dishes.[3] In 2011, the restaurant closed for one month. While closed, it underwent a $1.5 million renovation. Water Grill has been described as an "institution," in Los Angeles by theLos Angeles Times. Former chefs at the Los Angeles location includeDavid LeFevre andMichael Cimarusti.[2] In 2013, the Los Angeles location was named one of "38 Essential Los Angeles Restaurants," byEater.[4]

The restaurants haveraw bars serving fresh seafood.[1] The restaurants serve ten types ofoysters[3] and also servesea urchin andbay scallops.[5] Specific dishes includefritto misto,shrimp and grits,ragout, andsquid ink pasta withcalamari.[3] Water Grill'scrab cakes were named the best in Los Angeles in 2011 byLos Angeles Magazine.[5] Water Grill had earned oneMichelin star in 2008 and 2009[6] however when Michelin updated their reviews in 2019, the restaurant received a reduced rating of aMichelin Plate.
