Wasantha Aluwihare (born 16 July 1962) is aSri Lankan politician fromMatale and was a member of theParliament of Sri Lanka belonging to theUnited National Party. He was the former State Minister of Agriculture in the United National Party led unity government, He was earlier the Chief Minister of theCentral Province of Sri Lanka.[1] He is the son ofAlick Aluwihare and brother ofRanjith Aluwihare.[2][3] He also served as the Deputy Minister of Mahaweli Development and Environment before given the state ministry.
